What is the Take it Back Network?
It's a group of retailers, repair shops, non-profit organizations, waste haulers and recyclers that offer convenient options for recycling certain products that should not be disposed of in the trash.

The Network was developed to provide consumers with safe and convenient reuse and recycling options for products that contain toxic or hazardous materials. By reusing and recycling these products properly, we can save resources and reduce the amount of harmful contaminants that enter the environment.

What will Take it Back Network locations recycle?
Various electronic products such as TVs, computers and cell phones. Some will also recycle fluorescent light bulbs and tubes that contain mercury. A recycling fee may apply.

E-Cycle Washington Ends a Successful Year

E-Cycle Washington wrapped up 2009 exceeding expectations for collections. Since launching on January 1, 2009, the program has collected 38.5 million pounds of TVs, computers and monitors for safe recycling:

  • TVs: 22.3 million lbs (58%)
  • Monitors: 12.3 million lbs (32%)
  • Computers: 3.9 million lbs (10%

E-Cycle Washington provides responsible recycling of computers, monitors and TVs in Washington State. Recycling is financed by manufacturers and provided free-of-charge to households, small businesses, school districts, small governments and charities at collection sites across the state.
